The Earths Layers
The Earth is made of 4 different layers. As shown to the left they are the crust, mantle, outer core, and inner core. The inner core is solid and made out of iron, nickle, and other light elements. The outer core is made out of liquids, and isn't solid. The mantle is 1,700 miles thick. the crust is 25 miles thick.
Our Orbital Model
Our model is to the left and it showed orbital velocity. We were given to variables and needed to find the orbital velocity of planet X. We knew the orbital period of planet X and the distance it travels in one orbit or the circumference of the orbit. We used the equation of V=D/T to find the orbital velocity of planet X and it was 0.00318 m/s. We compared it to the earth's orbital velocity of 29.8 m/s.

Day lighting Design Model
Our Task
Our goal was to design a new STEM building using the least amount of energy. We had to use different day lighting techniques to light up the building and reduce the amount of energy, and cost used. We learned about how perfect the Earth is, solar angles, building a miniature cardboard house that had different day lighting techniques that lit it. We made wind turbines and chose one factor that would help with generate the most voltage. The main project was designing the new building. We made a 3D model using a program called tinkercad. Then we presented our building to an architect company.d
Our Presentation
New Concepts
ISolar Angles -Angles in which the sun bounces off of
Solar Tube-A circular tube on the top of houses that directs the sunlight in the area straight into the house
Light Shelf -A horizontal surface that reflects light into houses/buildings and have very reflective material on the top

Reflection
I really liked this project. It was super fun and I liked how many different projects we did. I wished that I stepped up a little more and took leadership on certain things. I wish that I contributed a little more, and I will do that for the next project. It was good because all the people in my group stepped up for me and contributed more, and we still got the job done. Our group got along well, and worked hard.
